Q. What do people do at StreetPass events?
A. Each group has their own, unique approach to StreetPass events, but people who join the gatherings generally socialize and play games with competitive or cooperative modes. People are also encouraged to put their Nintendo 3DS system in sleep mode at various times during the event to facilitate the exchange of StreetPass data.

Q. Can I join a StreetPass event if I don’t have a Nintendo 3DS?
A. Yes! You’re welcome to socialize with the group and check out the Nintendo 3DS games that other people bring with them. You might also try bringing a Nintendo DS game that allows for single-card download play. For more information about single-card download play, check out DSSingleCard.com.

Q. What games are most popular at StreetPass events?
A. The games most likely to be actively played at StreetPass events include Kid Icarus: Uprising, Mario Kart 7 and other multiplayer games. Nintendo 3DS games that allow for single-card download play, such as Star Fox 64 3D, are also commonly enjoyed.

Q. Why do I stop having StreetPass encounters for a game once I hit 10 encounters?
A. The Nintendo 3DS system recognizes no more than 10 StreetPass encounters for many games. Once any one game reaches its maximum, the system stops collecting data for that specific game. (The system continues to collect data for other games that have recorded fewer than their respective maximum number.) In order to start collecting data again for that specific game, you must enter the game and clear out the backlog of data that you have collected. This process usually takes just a few minutes.

Q. What is the range for StreetPass encounters?
A. According to Nintendo, the maximum recommended StreetPass range is 30 meters (98 feet). This range can be shorter depending on the enviromental situation.

Q. How can I have more StreetPass encounters outside StreetPass group events?
A. Some of our favorite places to find StreetPass encounters are large shopping centers, college campuses, food court and communal dining areas, stores that sell video games, and other significant gathering areas. You can also try going to areas that tourists visit. Be sure to bring your Nintendo 3DS with you when you travel!

Q. Why isn’t there a StreetPass group in my city?
A. Because nobody has started one. Perhaps your passion and leadership is just what other Nintendo 3DS gamers in your city need to get events going! Some tips for getting started are here.
